    Default My windmill

Here is a picture of my 400 watt windmill. It is 30 foot above my house. It workes well when it is windy. and when we have over cast days and it is stormy it produces power. This is when the PV solar panels are not producing much power so it helps my system.

The windmill was $600 from Northern Tools Sunforce Wind Generator — 12 Volt, Model# 44444 | Wind Turbines | Northern Tool + Equipment
You might have the cost for a mast and guy wires and wire to connect the wind mill to the battery and the cost of a inverter and battery. I would say a cost of $1000 on average.
I have it charging a D8 battery. Then I have a inverter hooked to the battery and the inverter runs my entertainment center. I think that I will use the windmill and battery to power all my low voltage landscape lighting around the house. I have upgraded all the lights to LED the bulbs now use 1 watt compared to the halogen bulbs that use 10 to 20 watts each and get very hot to touch.
